Brittany (1965)

This later trip to Brittany seems to have been quite different from the first trip in 1956. It seems more like a convemtional holiday, whereas the first trip was quite determinedly 'educational':  -  we pioneers did some geography,  some geology,  some sociology and even stayed in a school.

Both trips went to the pictures,  though,   and neither reporter commented on the experience.   In 1956 the cinema itself was a shock.   Instead of the seating being raised from under the screen to the back of the hall, the screen was higher than anything else and the seats raked down from front to back.   It felt like the theatre was a sinking ship.
